James Mason was an English actor. He was born in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, England, UK on 15th May 1909 and died on 27th July 1984, aged 75.

His best films as an actor include George Cukor's A Star Is Born (1954), Andrew L. Stone's crime-thriller Cry Terror! (1958), Alfred Hitchcock's thriller North by Northwest (1959), Jack Clayton's The Pumpkin Eater (1964) and Sam Peckinpah's Cross of Iron (1977), and whose best work as a screenwriter include William Spier's Lady Possessed (1952), Roy Kellino's Charade (1953) and Nicholas Ray's Bigger Than Life (1956).
