Lindsay Anderson was a British film director. He was born in Bangalore, British India on 17th April 1923 and died in Angoulême, France on 30th August 1994, aged 71.

His best films as a film director include This Sporting Life (1963), If.... (1968) and O Lucky Man! (1973), and whose best work as an actor include Kurt Jung-Alsen's Der Schwur des Soldaten Pooley (1963), Roberto Guerra's 75 Years of Cinema Museum (1972) and Hugh Hudson's Chariots of Fire (1981).
