Pascal Bonitzer is a French film director and screenwriter. He was born in Paris, France on 1st February 1946.

His best films as a screenwriter include René Allio's Moi, Pierre Rivière... (1976), André Téchiné's Le Lieu du crime (1986), Jacques Rivette's La Belle noiseuse (1991), Ma saison préférée (1993) and Jeanne la Pucelle II - Les prisons (1994), and whose best work as a film director include Encore (1996), Le Grand alibi (2008) and Cherchez Hortense (2012).
