He was born in Pontrhydyfen, Wales, UK on 10th November 1925 and died in Céligny, Geneva, Switzerland on 5th August 1984, aged 58.His best films as an actor include Peter Glenville's Becket (1964), Martin Ritt's thriller The Spy Who Came in from the Cold (1965), Franco Zeffirelli's The Taming of the Shrew (1967), Charles Guggenheim's Robert Kennedy Remembered (1968) and Charles Jarrott's Anne of the Thousand Days (1969).
