Film Synopsis

Marceline is busy rehearsing for a stage production of Turgenev's play A Month in the Country, in which she has the principal role, Nathalia Petrovna.  Her director assures her that the play will be a great success, that her performance will be beyond criticism, but she is still worried about the part.   Alas, this is not the only thing that is playing on her mind.  Having recently turned forty, Marceline is anxious that she is still unmarried and has not yet had the opportunity to settle down and start a family.  She has been too preoccupied playing other people to live her own life, and time is fast running out...
