Angry Indian Goddesses (2015) Directed by Pan Nalin
Comedy / Drama
Film Synopsis
In present-day India, seven independently minded, thoroughly liberated women
spend a week together at the house of one of them in Goa. Here, they
talk about their lives, their desires and their concerns about their amorous
liaisons. To a male onlooker, they would resemble a fearsome tribe
of amazons, unfettered by the bonds of matrimony and family. One night,
one of the women, Frieda, drops her bombshell. After some considerable
soul-searching, she has made up her mind to get married! This unexpected
news takes her six friends by surprise and provokes further intense discussion
on what a woman in modern India needs to be happy and fulfilled...
American film comedy had its heyday in the 1920s and '30s, but it remains an important genre and has given American cinema some of its enduring classics.
