In this film based on an autobiographical book by the actor Richard Bohringer,
a disillusioned man in his sixties gets to live his dream, to travel freely
and without aim across France, Canada and Africa, accompanied by those who
are closest to him. Richard is a man who has lived a full life and
has enjoyed a successful career as an actor and musician, although he has
needed the support of drugs and alcohol to see him through. Despite
this, he still wonders who he is and what he is doing with his life.
Included in his entourage is a young writer named Paulo who feels impelled
to follow the ageing musician and share his experiences. Together,
both men finally begin to discover who they are and where they are heading...

The very best period film dramas
Is there any period of history that has not been vividly brought back to life by cinema? Historical movies offer the ultimate in escapism.
In the 1940s, the shadowy, skewed visual style of 1920s German expressionism was taken up by directors of American thrillers and psychological dramas, creating that distinctive film noir look.
