Film Synopsis

In the 1930s, young Bobby Dorfman has grown tried of life in New York.  With his parents always at loggerheads and his brother now a fully paid up mobster, Bobby has no interest in the family jewellery business and wants only to make a fresh start.  To that end, he moves to Hollywood, and turns to his Uncle Phil, an influential agent.  The latter has no idea what to do with the young man, who has no obvious talents in any direction, so he takes him on as an errand boy.  Phil asks his secretary Veronica to help his nephew settle into his new life in Hollywood, and before he knows it Bobby is in love with her - which is unfortunate, as she already has a man in her life.  In fact the man in question is Phil, who has been carrying on an illicit affair with Veronica for some time, the latter foolishly thinking that he will one day divorce his wife and marry her.  When Phil puts an end to the relationship, Veronica can't help falling for Bobby...
