When he completes his eight year stretch in prison for rape, Max Cady has vengeance on
his mind. He soon tracks down the man who put him behind bars, a lawyer named Sam Bowden, and
begins terrorising his family. When Max kills his dog, Bowden hires a private detective, Charlie Sievers, to no avail. Bowden finally decides to take the law into his own hands, hiring three thugs to scare Cady away, but the plan backfires...
