On his release from prison after serving a five year stretch, Carlito Brigante
is determined to put his criminal past behind him. The life of the
New York hoodlum no longer appeals to him. Now he wants only to escape
to a Caribbean paradise with the woman he loves, to spend his remaining days
in the sun, untroubled by the cops and his former criminal associates.
But, as Carlito soon discovers, it isn't so easy to bury your past.
He has barely set foot in New York before he is drawn back into his old life
and gets himself on the wrong side of the law. Carlito's past unpaid
debts have come back to trouble him, with interest...
