Comedy / Drama
aka: Lost in Armenia
Film Synopsis
Jean-Paul Bolzec is an actor who travels to Azerbaijan to take part in a
show for a French company. On his return to the airport afterwards,
his taxi breaks down and he finds himself stranded in the middle of nowhere.
He continues his journey on foot, but ends up unwittingly crossing the border
into Armenia, which has been at war with Azerbaijan for many years.
Unable to speak a word of the language, he has difficulty making himself
understood. Some of the villagers he encounters mistake him for the
Messiah, whilst others are equally convinced that he is a dangerous spy.
Bolzec must use all of his skills as an actor if he is to survive this escapade
and make a safe return to France...
In the 1920s French cinema was at its most varied and stylish - witness the achievements of Abel Gance, Marcel L'Herbier, Jean Epstein and Jacques Feyder.
From Jean Renoir to François Truffaut, French cinema has no shortage of truly great filmmakers, each bringing a unique approach to the art of filmmaking.
