In a not too distant apocalyptic future, in a New York City overrun
with rats, Lafayette divides his time between the Waxworks Museum where
he works and his friends, who include Luigi, an asthmatic and
disillusioned anarchist. Lafayette's life changes suddenly when
Luigi presents him with a baby monkey. Lafayette names the animal
Cornelius and decides to raise him as his own child.
