In a slum district of Buenos Aires, Julian and Nicolas, two priests and
old friends, are doing their best to help the population. Julian
uses his political connections to supervise the building of a
hospital. Nicolas joins him after the failure of a project which
took him into the jungle, where the inhabitants were killed by
paramilitary forces. Deeply shocked, he finds solace in the
company of Luciana, a young social worker and atheist. As
Nicholas' faith begins to falter, the tensions between the factions in
the slum increase. Things come to a head when the minister orders
work on the hospital to stop...
