Film Synopsis
Robert Surcouf has abandoned his career as a corsair so that he can
devote himself to his family. But on the day his first son is
baptised, he receives a message from the Emperor Napoléon.

confidential documents which risk falling into the hands of the
English, who have recently taken the island. Surcouf succeeds in
destroying the compromising papers but he then learns that his brother
has been taken prisoner by the English...
Science-fiction came into its own in B-movies of the 1950s, but it remains a respected and popular genre, bursting into the mainstream in the late 1970s.
In the 1920s French cinema was at its most varied and stylish - witness the achievements of Abel Gance, Marcel L'Herbier, Jean Epstein and Jacques Feyder.
Since the 1920s, Hollywood has dominated the film industry, but that doesn't mean American cinema is all bad - America has produced so many great films that you could never watch them all in one lifetime.
