Film Synopsis
In colonial Africa towards the end of the 19th century, Martha, a young
English woman, sets out to join her brother for the spring.
During the journey, she meets Peter, a soldier who saves her life and
with whom she falls madly in love. One autumn, Claire and
Gabriel, two musicians, meet and fall in love. She is French, he
is Russian. They enjoy a passionate romance in Paris during the
Second World War, but they are soon driven apart by jealousy. One
summer, in present day Italy, Naty, a 14-year-old girl, is in love with
Guiseppe. He is in a coma in hospital. Every day, she comes
to visit him. She tells him stories and sings songs. One
day, Guiseppe awakes...
