Back in the 1990s, Lucas and Thomas were members of an underground rock band
which failed to get anywhere. Just when Lucas is looking forward to
a future of depressing obscurity he comes across an old notebook containing
songs written by Thomas. It is thanks to these forgotten songs that
Lucas manages to kick-start his music career, and within months he has become
an incredibly famous pop star. All is well until Thomas suddenly re-enters
his life. Not wishing to share his remarkable stroke of good of fortune
with his old friend, Lucas decides to keep from him that he is now mega-rich
and mega-famous. So, as he returns to his old insignificant self, he
hires an out-of-work actor, Francis, to take his place as the celebrity pop
star. It proves to be a disastrous decision...

Kafka's tortuous trial of love
Franz Kafka's letters to his fiancée Felice Bauer not only reveal a soul in torment; they also give us a harrowing self-portrait of a man appalled by his own existence.
A wave of fresh talent in the late 1950s, early 1960s brought about a dramatic renaissance in French cinema, placing the auteur at the core of France's 7th art.
