Film Synopsis

Elsa Lundenstein is on trial in Versailles for having killed her lover.  Afflicted with terminal cancer, the latter had persuaded Elsa to bring about an end to his suffering.  Seven jury members will judge Elsa, but their decision will be influenced by their own personal dramas at the time of the trial.  Evariste Malingre is a farmer who learns that his wife has been cheating on him while he was away.  Félix Noblet cannot marry the girl he loves because her parents object to him being a mere waiter in a café.  Jean-Luc Flavier still has not been forgiven by his wife for fathering an epileptic child.  Théodore Andrieux is anxious that he hasn't been able to marry off his two daughters.  Marceline Micoulin is a widow who has feelings for a much younger man.  Michel Caudron is a bath salesman who is depressed by his humdrum life.  Gilbert de Montesson decides to break up with his mistress so that he can get married.  With such a jury, will justice be done?
