Film Synopsis

Liu Jian is one of Hong Kong's most highly rated secret service agents, so it is no surprise to him that the French police turn to him to help with the arrest of a corrupt Chinese dignitary who has so far evaded their capture.  Teaming up with a resourceful French cop, Inspector Jean-Pierre Richard, Liu Jian sets about his new mission with his customary élan but what begins as a straightforward assignment soon goes badly wrong when the object of Liu's investigation is killed right in front of his very eyes.

It is at once apparent to Liu that he has fallen into a trap, and that someone intends him to take the blame for a cleverly orchestrated assassination.  The agent's one hope of saving himself is an American prostitute who was present at the scene of the killing and can therefore provide evidence in his favour.  As Liu continues his investigation, trying to evade capture from the cop he was sent to help, he soon realises that he is caught up in a huge worldwide conspiracy, in which his involvement is merely a small part...
