Film Synopsis

In the 18th century, a motley group of individuals are crossing the ocean in their ship, the Hispagnola, en route for a small island in the Antilles where a fabulous treasure is thought to be buried.  Leading the party is a fearsome-looking pirate with a wooden leg, Long John Silver.  His crew includes young Jim Hawkins, a lively lad who can hardly contain his delight at fulfilling his dreams of adventure on the high seas, and Dr Livesey, a medical man who is a little too fond of strong liquor for his own good.  Another valuable addition to the party is the Baroness Evangeline Trelawney, a sprightly widow who has provided the transport in return for a large share of the treasure.  Jim is the only member of the group who knows the exact location of Captain Flint's legendary buried treasure, but unfortunately he has lost his memory in an accident.  It is up to Dr Livesey to help restore Jim's memory and make them all rich beyond their wildest dreams.  At least, that is the plan...
