Georgis, a travel agent in his forties, is enjoying a peaceful meal in a
café when nearby a man under police surveillance is shot dead.
Believed to be in some way connected with the man's killing, Georgis is immediately
taken into custody and finds himself in a place known as the Centrale, where
he is subjected to the most relentless grilling by impassive agents of the
law who are determined to extract the truth from him. The travel agent
protests his innocence and even though his act is convincing his interrogators
persist, confident that in the end he will break down and reveal his part
in the conspiracy. Georgis's nightmare is only just beginning, and
it is far from certain that he will be allowed to leave the Centrale alive...
