Le Monde de Fred (2014) Directed by Valérie Müller
Comedy / Drama
Film Synopsis
Fred is a frustrated director who has one dream: to stage one of
Molière's plays in a football stadium. In the meantime, he
must content himself with interviewing the same old predictable crowd
of footballers for TV sports channels. His love life is hardly
any more satisfying. He hops from one bed to another, with no
hope of forming a long term attachment. Then comes the fateful
day when Fleur, one of his passing conquests, lets him know that she is
pregnant with his child. Becoming a father was just about the
last thing Fred had imagined possible...
In his letters to his friends and family, Franz Kafka gives us a rich self-portrait that is surprisingly upbeat, nor the angst-ridden soul we might expect.
From its birth in 1895, cinema has been an essential part of French culture. Now it is one of the most dynamic, versatile and important of the arts in France.
It was American film noir and pulp fiction that kick-started the craze for thrillers in 1950s France and made it one of the most popular and enduring genres.
