Film Synopsis
In 1959, France is still a member of NATO and 14,000 American soldiers
are stationed in the town of Orléans. Patrick, a
16-year-old boy, is fascinated by the way of life of these GIs and
cannot understand why others want to see the back of them. When
he tries to prevent a communist mason from writing 'US go home' on the
road, he sustains a facial injury. Sergeant Will Caberra comes to
his aid and becomes his friend, even a substitute father. When he
breaks up with his girlfriend Marie-José, Patrick falls for the
daughter of another American subaltern, Trudy Wadd...
