Film Synopsis
Stéphane, a onetime fashion photographer, lives alone with his daughter
Marie in a large house in the suburbs of Paris. Stéphane retains
his passion for his art and thinks nothing of subjecting his daughter to
the ordeal of lengthy photography sessions which are both physically and
emotionally demanding. Jean, Stéphane's young assistant, cannot
help falling in love with Marie and becomes increasingly concerned over the
way she is being exploited by her clearly unstable father. Gradually,
he realises that he must get her away from this hermetic environment, before
it is too late...
American film comedy had its heyday in the 1920s and '30s, but it remains an important genre and has given American cinema some of its enduring classics.
In his letters to his friends and family, Franz Kafka gives us a rich self-portrait that is surprisingly upbeat, nor the angst-ridden soul we might expect.
Science-fiction came into its own in B-movies of the 1950s, but it remains a respected and popular genre, bursting into the mainstream in the late 1970s.
