Les Stances à Sophie (1971)
Directed by Moshé Mizrahi

Drama / Comedy
aka: Sophie's Ways

Film Synopsis

Céline is a free-spirited modern girl who revels in her freedom.  Not for her the shackles of matrimony and motherhood.  She intends living for the moment, as fully and as freely as the laws of the land - and good taste - will allow.  Then she meets Philippe Aignan, a wealthy businessman who would be a ideal catch for any woman.  When she starts going out with Philippe Céline is confident that this is no different from any previous liaison she has enjoyed.  She'll take what she can from it, have a good time, and then move on with a pert 'bye, bye Philippe'.  Unfortunately, that is not how things pan out this time.  Before she knows it, Céline is handcuffed in wedlock to a man who manages to convince her that he is her perfect soul mate.  She soon discovers the error of her ways.  Waking up to the suffocating boredom of married life, Céline realises she has made a big mistake.  With a little help from her friend Julia she will find a way out of her present colourless mode of existence...
