Film Synopsis

Fulbert Taupin is a Parisian artist who is struggling to sell portraits to the clients of pavement cafés in Montparnasse.  One day, the skill with which he draws a five franc note interests a so-called baron and his niece Lucile.  Hired on a pretext of decorating a private residence, Fulbert soon discovers that he is called upon to forge bank notes, his employer being a dangerous gangster...
