Film Synopsis

Marius Petipa is a French dancer who has just found success in Saint Petersburg.  He begins a relationship with Machenka, a young dancer with a promising future ahead of her.  But for Marius art comes before love, and he ends up neglecting the woman he loves.  After one painful incident, he comes to his senses and organises a tour for Machenka that will make her famous.  Alas, Fate then intervenes to separate them forever...
