On his wife's birthday, Romano discovers that he is ruined and runs
away in shame. In another town, he meets Anna, a young and shy
Russian girl with whom he falls instantly in love. Anna is at
first unmoved by Romano's attentions but she finally yields to his
advances. When the Russian girl runs from him, Romano goes after
her, convinced that she is the one true love of his life.
