Film Synopsis

Panurge is a poor cobbler.  He spends his entire day inhaling fish glue and his one faithful companion is the sickly flower he grows in a food tin.  One day, he falls in love with a laundress, but her virtue is threatened by the seductive Fred.  It takes a man as delicate and melancholic as Panurge to save the woman he loves...
