Film Synopsis

At the end of the 19th century, Sarraounia is the queen of the Aznas.  She has no personal ambitions.  Her only preoccupations are peace and independence.  A military party made up of French mercenaries come down from the north, heading from Sudan to Chad and hassling the local people who get in their way.  Under Sarraounia's leadership, the natives arrange themselves to put up a fight.
