In Seville, Maria Delgado shows promise as a police inspector, in a
milieu that is little inclined to welcome a woman who is as attractive
as she is. During Holy Week, she is tasked with investigating a
bizarre series of murders. The crimes are marked by the blood of
a hooded penitent and, distrusted by her male colleagues, Maria herself
becomes the killer's target...

The best of American cinema
Since the 1920s, Hollywood has dominated the film industry, but that doesn't mean American cinema is all bad - America has produced so many great films that you could never watch them all in one lifetime.
American film comedy had its heyday in the 1920s and '30s, but it remains an important genre and has given American cinema some of its enduring classics.
The cinema of Japan is noteworthy for its purity, subtlety and visual impact. The films of Ozu, Mizoguchi and Kurosawa are sublime masterpieces of film poetry.
