Film Synopsis
In a building lying somewhere between the suburbs and the centre of
Paris, seven people meet and get to know one another in the course of a
long and anxious night. All of them are waiting for something to
happen. A pregnant mother is waiting for her child. Others
are waiting for partners to turn up or for some life-changing
event. When the night is over, all seven of them will emerge as
different people, their waiting rewarded.

The very best of the French New Wave
A wave of fresh talent in the late 1950s, early 1960s brought about a dramatic renaissance in French cinema, placing the auteur at the core of France's 7th art.
In the 1910s, French cinema led the way with a new industry which actively encouraged innovation. From the serials of Louis Feuillade to the first auteur pieces of Abel Gance, this decade is rich in cinematic marvels.
With so many great films to choose from, it's nigh on impossible to compile a short-list of the best 15 French films of all time - but here's our feeble attempt to do just that.
From its birth in 1895, cinema has been an essential part of French culture. Now it is one of the most dynamic, versatile and important of the arts in France.
