Ange Paoli, a shady individual, is found murdered in Paris.  On his body is a train ticket which leads Inspector Legrix to Marseille and a strange clinic run by Dr Roussel who, he believes, can shed some light on the affair.  In the same train as Paoli is a young woman, Marie-Claire, who is also mysteriously murdered...
