Film Synopsis
Brought up by her old aunt in a drab shop in the back streets of Paris,
Thérèse has no choice but to marry her sickly cousin
Camille Raquin. It is a loveless marriage and
Thérèse's attention is soon drawn to another man,
Laurent, a friend of her husband's and a far more attractive example of
manhood. The two are soon pursuing a passionate love affair and
decide that they must kill Camille if they are to find lasting
happiness. The deed is performed during a boating trip one sunny
Sunday. But far from setting them free, Camille's death merely
drives the too lovers apart as they succumb to guilt and mutual
loathing...
