Un meurtre est un meurtre (1972) Directed by Etienne Périer
Crime / Drama / Mystery
aka: A Murder Is a Murder
Film Synopsis
Nothing could suit Paul better when his paralysed wife Marie dies in a
car accident. He is now free to marry his mistress Françoise and start
a new life. But before he can do so, Marie's sister Anne (who
bears an uncanny resemblance to the dead woman) takes up residence in
his house. Not long after, Paul is visited by a man named Carouse
who asks him if he is content with the service he has provided for
him. Confused, Paul wonders whether he should call in the police
or if he is implicated in a crime of which he is entirely ignorant...
In his letters to his friends and family, Franz Kafka gives us a rich self-portrait that is surprisingly upbeat, nor the angst-ridden soul we might expect.
