Joyce Grenfell was an English actress and singer whose birth name was Joyce Irene Phipps. She was born in London, England on 10th February 1910 and died in London, England on 30th November 1979, aged 69.

Her best films as an actor include Ronald Neame's comedy The Million Pound Note (1953), Frank Launder's The Belles of St. Trinian's (1954), Blue Murder at St. Trinian's (1957), The Pure Hell of St. Trinian's (1960) and William Castle's comedy-thriller The Old Dark House (1963).
