Kate and Geoff Mercer have been happily married for 45 years. They
are arranging a party to mark this anniversary when Geoff receives a letter
from Switzerland notifying him that the body of a woman named Katya has just
been found frozen in the Alps. Katya was Geoff's first love, and it
has been fifty since she died. The news that her body has been recovered
after so long a period unsettles Geoff and brings back painful memories.
Kate notices the change in her husband but he is reluctant to talk to her.
As their wedding anniversary creeps ever closer, she sets about uncovering
a part of Geoff's life that he is so keen to forget...
