In a small village in the south of France, Alex lives alone and occupies
herself by restoring a dilapidated old building. What keeps the thirty-something
woman going is the prospect that one day she will regain custody of
her 14-year-old-son, who currently lives with his father. Alex scrapes
by, selling fruit and vegetables at the market place and doing work on building
sites. This is how she comes to meet Karim...

The best of British film comedies
British cinema excels in comedy, from the genius of Will Hay to the camp lunacy of the Carry Ons.
Science-fiction came into its own in B-movies of the 1950s, but it remains a respected and popular genre, bursting into the mainstream in the late 1970s.
In the 1910s, French cinema led the way with a new industry which actively encouraged innovation. From the serials of Louis Feuillade to the first auteur pieces of Abel Gance, this decade is rich in cinematic marvels.
