After a disastrous experience during the making of a film in another country,
26-year-old Ana heads back to her home town of Strasbourg. With a relationship
break-down still preying on her mind, Ana needs some time out to take stock
of her life, and to that end she decides to spend some time with her grandmother,
to whom she is closely attached. When her dear relative has to go into
hospital, Ana decides to undertake some home improvements for her, such as
replacing the old bath tub with a new shower. Her period of re-adjustment
is perturbed by the sudden unexpected return of her ex, but she has more
than enough to keep her occupied. She has allowed herself a full year
to put her life in order, which gives her plenty of time to drive about in
her Porsche, gather fruit with her mother and sleep with her best friend.
At the end of this year of improvised self-indulgences, she is sure to be
a better person...

The very best sci-fi movies
Science-fiction came into its own in B-movies of the 1950s, but it remains a respected and popular genre, bursting into the mainstream in the late 1970s.
Since the 1920s, Hollywood has dominated the film industry, but that doesn't mean American cinema is all bad - America has produced so many great films that you could never watch them all in one lifetime.
In his letters to his friends and family, Franz Kafka gives us a rich self-portrait that is surprisingly upbeat, nor the angst-ridden soul we might expect.
