aka: Dormant Beauty
Film Synopsis
On 23rd November 2008, Italy is divided by the fate of Eluana Englaro,
a young woman who has been in a coma for 17 years. The Italian
courts have just granted Beppino Englaro, her father, the right to
suspend the artificial means by which she is kept alive. In the
political storm that ensues, public opinion is inflamed. Maria, a
pro-life militant, leads a demonstration in front of the clinic where
Eluana is soon to die, whilst in Rome her father, a senator, hesitates
over voting for a law that will overturn this judgement.
Meanwhile, a well-known actress hopes that her own daughter will

The greatest French film directors
From Jean Renoir to François Truffaut, French cinema has no shortage of truly great filmmakers, each bringing a unique approach to the art of filmmaking.
In his letters to his friends and family, Franz Kafka gives us a rich self-portrait that is surprisingly upbeat, nor the angst-ridden soul we might expect.
