Bienvenue à Marly-Gomont (2016)
Directed by Julien Rambaldi

Biography / Comedy / Drama
aka: The African Doctor

Film Synopsis

In 1975, Seyolo Zantoko has just graduated in medicine in Kinshasa.  He is keen to work in France and, to the delight of himself and his wife Anne, he is offered a post as a doctor in a small village in Picardy named Marly-Gomont.  The welcome that Seyolo receives on his arrival can hardly be described as warm.  Virtually no one in this out-of-the-way backwater has seen a coloured person before and the entire community appears united in their scepticism as to whether Seyolo is up to the job.  Gradually, the new doctor gains the confidence and respect of the villagers, and his popularity is not harmed when his son manages to get himself into the local football team...
