Film Synopsis

Pierre is a mixed-up 17-year-old who, caught in the turmoil of adolescent awakening, develops an obsessive interest in a 40-something mathematician named Nadia.  Alone and unloved, the latter feels her life is falling apart and she resorts to alcohol in an attempt to hold at bay the destructive impulses to which she is increasingly prone.  Pierre seems to understand nothing of the unfortunate woman's suffering but, seeing she is in distress, he does his best to comfort her.  As their relationship develops, it becomes increasingly ambiguous and the two confused people become ever more dependent on each other.  Then, one day, Pierre notices a young man, Fabrice, on a bus.  He feels himself drawn to the stranger and before he knows it he realises he is in love for the first time...
