Dressed to Kill (1980)
Directed by Brian De Palma

Mystery / Romance / Thriller

Film Synopsis

Disturbed by a succession of vivid erotic dreams which are the result of her unfulfilled sex life, Kate Miller consults her New York psychiatrist, Dr Robert Elliott.  He resists her advances and she goes off to the city museum, where she meets a stranger and allows him to take her back to his apartment for a night of passion.  The next morning, whilst she is leaving the building she is slashed to death with a razor by a tall blond woman in dark glasses.  The murder is witnessed by Liz Blake, a high class call-girl, who fears she may be the killer's next victim.  The police failing to take her story seriously, Liz teams up with Kate's son Peter, who is determined to avenge his mother's death.  A likely suspect is one of Dr Elliott's patients, a transgender man whom the psychiatrist has upset through his unwillingness to sign papers authorising a sex change operation.  Convinced that the name of the killer is in Dr Elliott's appointment book, Liz sets out to seduce him, not knowing that the killer is nearer than she could dare imagine...
