Film Synopsis

Even though he is worn down with age, Gebo continues to work as an accountant so that he can support his family.  He lives with his wife Doroteia and daughter-in-law Sofia.  The couple are mostly concerned with their son João, who is away from home.  Gebo seems to know something about João's absence, something he is keeping from his wife.  Sofia is equally anxious over what has become of her husband.  But when João suddenly puts in an appearance, things change in a way that no one could have foreseen...
