Film Synopsis
A Jewish woman born in the United States, Hanna Faufman immigrated to
Israel after marrying a French man, whom she has since left. Now
practising as a lawyer, she is defending a Palestinien, Selim Bakri,
who is suspected by the authorities of belonging to an anti-Israeli
terrorist network. Matters are complicated by the fact that the
prosecuting magistrate, Josué Herzog, is a former lover of
hers. Although she is pregnant with Herzog's child, she has no
intention of marrying him as she shares none of his political
views. Moreover, she still hasn't divorced Victor, whom she still
relies on to give her professional advice. Victor is still in
love with Hannah, and has made several attempts to persuade her to
return with him to Paris. But Hannah is too committed to her
present case, to the extent that she invites her client, Bakri, to live
with her - a gesture that is regarded with suspicion, particularly by
Herzog...
