La Dream Team (2016)
Directed by Thomas Sorriaux

Comedy

Film Synopsis

Maxime Belloch's success as a footballer has gone to his head somewhat.  The best striker Paris-Saint-Germain ever had, his ego has become so inflated that it's incredible he can walk upright.  Naturally a star of his calibre has a right to park his top-of-the-range sports car wherever he likes, otherwise what's the point of being a celebrity?  Unfortunately, the authorities don't see things his way and when he returns to his precious car after leaving it in a space reserved for handicapped drivers he finds that it has been impounded.  Maxime is not one for holding back his emotions, so with his fury unleashed by this latest affront he kicks out at the nearest thing within kicking range - and so he fractures his tibia.  Thus ends his glorious football career - at least until the damaged leg has healed.

Thinking that the best therapy for Maxime is a change of scene, his agent coaxes him into returning to his home region of Berry in central France and spending some time with his father on his farm.  It is hardly the friendliest of homecomings that Maxime receives - his father Jacques is totally unimpressed by his success and looks upon the star footballer as nothing more than an overpaid egocentric brat.  Jacques will only allow his son to stay with him if he gives football lessons to the youngsters in the village.  Maxime reluctantly agrees, although he has a hard time adjusting to his enforced imprisonment in the back of beyond.  Fortunately, through one of the aspiring footballers in his charge, he gets to meet an attractive young physiotherapist, who seems to be the answer to all of his prayers...
