Every evening, Edouard, a radio presenter, freely dispenses advice and
comfort to his listeners when they ring in to pour out their
hearts. When Edouard offers the same service to his friends the
results prove to be disastrous. His best friend Eric is
thrown over by Louise, who takes up with a writer, Landrieu. Eric
moves in with Vera, a young Brazilian woman, who falls madly in love
with him. Meanwhile, Josef and Gloria, a married couple, have
each taken a lover. As he attempts to patch up his friends'
turbulent love lives, Edouard is himself thrown into despair when his
own sweetheart, Lotte, abandons him for another man...
