Film Synopsis
During a stay at the Bamer hotel in Mexico, the auteur filmmaker Guy Gilles sets out to craft a personal portrait of the country that takes us as far as possible from the familiar tourist view of the region. On this voyage of discovery, the role of guide will be fulfilled by a lift operator named Lupe, who offers us her own conception of life. Is it only of winning the national lottery that the Mexicans dream? As he probes beneath the surface, Gilles uncovers an unfamiliar and mystical country that holds its secrets well and has much to teach the rest of the world...© James Travers
