Film Synopsis

Léopold Quintana is a politician who is capable of anything to achieve his ends.  By means of bribery and other underhand methods, he achieves his aim of becoming a minister and then, finally, the President of the Council.  But, having aroused so much hatred around him, he perishes at the hands of one of his victims.  He is rejected by everyone, even his mistress, who decides to marry one of his enemies.
