Film Synopsis
Angèle is seduced and abandoned by the ensign Fleury. She
must give up her child into state care and is saved from ruin by the
quartermaster Alain, whom she marries. Some time later, Fleury
returns and immediately a rivaly develops between him and
Alain. In the end, Fleury decides to leave and will see his
son only on his deathbed, and it is Alain who must bring father and son
together.
Science-fiction came into its own in B-movies of the 1950s, but it remains a respected and popular genre, bursting into the mainstream in the late 1970s.
In the 1940s, the shadowy, skewed visual style of 1920s German expressionism was taken up by directors of American thrillers and psychological dramas, creating that distinctive film noir look.
