Film Synopsis

Angèle is seduced and abandoned by the ensign Fleury.  She must give up her child into state care and is saved from ruin by the quartermaster Alain, whom she marries.  Some time later, Fleury returns and immediately a rivaly develops between him and Alain.   In the end, Fleury decides to leave and will see his son only on his deathbed, and it is Alain who must bring father and son together.
