Film Synopsis

In Seville, the honest Brigadier Don José is easily seduced by the gypsy temptress Carmen.  Micaëla, Don José's girlfriend since childhood, is incensed and gets into a fight with Carmen.  When Micaëla is injured by her attacker, Don José is ordered by another officer to take Carmen to prison.  But Don José is too easily charmed by the gypsy and, driven mad with desire, he allows her to escape...
